Michael Loebenstein (born 26 August 1974 in Vienna, Austria) is a curator and researcher in the field of audiovisual archiving and visual history. His career over the past 15 years has included senior positions at the Austrian Film Museum, working as the head of the Education & Outreach department and as Curator for Special Programs.〔http://www.filmmuseum.at/aktuelles/news/2011/michael_loebenstein_zum_ceo_des_national_film_and_sound_archive_of_australia_bestellt〕 In 2008 he was appointed to the board of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Arts and Culture’s film funding agency, serving a 3-year term. His prolific output has included contributions to various books, magazines and articles as a feature writer, commentator and editor.
